Given the steep ascent of the far right around the world today,the Col·lectiu Las Huecas shows an extreme and dystopian comedy with the goal of uncover the brutality concealed behind today’s political forms and trends. It is a vindication of the humor as an anti-fascist weapon.

"There is no doubt that we are facing a reactionary boom throughout Europe and the global north. The normalization of ultra-conservative, if not directly post-fascist speeches, floods the media, social networks and parliaments. Given this panorama, Las Huecas believe that the theatre can be a space from which to propose a restitution of the order of things. Therefore, we denounce an intolerable labour usurpation: the extreme right uses the performativity scenic, the post-humour and the strategies of fiction in its forms of communication and diffusion. There is no more to see the jester Trump in his appearances, justifying the barbarity by imitation and laughter. That’s why we comedians respond with an exercise in vindication of humour as an anti-fascist weapon. In turn, we remember that the professional idiots here are us.
Using a distanced theatricality in which visual power matters, the play between the conventions of comedy and the commonplaces of psychological terror, we propose a comic exercise that operates through degraded parody, grotesque body and political satire taken to absurdity."
